Mercedes will wait until winter to discuss Hamilton’s contract
Toto Wolff has confirmed that negotiations with Hamilton on a contract extension have not yet begun. Everything will be put on the table this winter, at calm, for a contract extension beyond 2023.
“We are going to negotiate a new agreement. We will sit down together and discuss it in the coming months,” explained the director of the Mercedes team. He confirms that for now nothing has started but he has no doubt that Hamilton will remain a Mercedes driver.”
The last renewal of Lewis Hamilton dates back to 2021. He had signed for an additional 2 years; That is until the end of 2023. The end of the 2022 season therefore seems a bit early to discuss all of this.
