Pedro de la Rosa still regularly walks through the Formula 1 paddocks but competed in his last Grand Prix in 2012, so it’s been 20 years. The 51-year-old Spaniard will now join the Aston Martin team as a brand ambassador, but more importantly as a promoter of the F1 team. He will also have a role as an advisor for the junior driver development program.
« I already know quite a few faces in this team, with whom I worked with Fernando Alonso when I was at McLaren and Ferrari, and I am excited to get to know those that I do not know, explained de la Rosa.
I would use my experience and expertise to help the team grow and develop for the 2023 season and I would assist in marketing operations.
Pedro de la Rosa will work with his compatriot, Fernando Alonso, who will be a regular driver next year at Aston Martin alongside Lance Stroll. They will all be valuable assets within the young driver development program in lower formula single-seater categories than F1.
Note that Pedro de la Rosa, after his F1 career, obtained a degree in finance in 2017.
