Mercedes once again complained to the FIA regarding a technical report issue

On each Grand Prix, a technical commissioner is stationed in the garage of each driver. Therefore, 20 technical commissioners are responsible for observing everything that the mechanics do and taking notes on a sheet about what is being done, when, based on what the team reports.

It is up to the team to come and see the delegate and inform him of a modification. The FIA has just released a statement asking Mercedes to come and justify a problem with one of the technical modification forms for Lewis Hamilton’s car.

The team representative will have to show up at 17:15 (10:15 PM local time).

A penalty may be expected if it can give an advantage in terms of performance to Hamilton’s car.

UPDATE at 5:52pm: The FIA has just announced a financial penalty. A fine of €25,000 is imposed on the Mercedes team for this error related to Lewis Hamilton’s piercing, which was not correctly reported on the form. Read more.
