The documentary about Jacques Villeneuve driving the Alpine will be unveiled this Sunday on Canal+
Alpine and Canal+ joined together to celebrate the beautiful 25th anniversary of Jacques Villeneuve's world champion title. The Canadian was able to participate in a testing session on last season's Alpine F1 A521 at Monza.
While it has been 25 years since Jacques Villeneuve won his Formula 1 World Championship title, with a Renault engine, the Alpine team has offered a rather nice tribute.
On social media, the Canal+ team revealed a few weeks ago during the Dutch Grand Prix that they were preparing to drive an Alpine F1. Julien Fébreau, Jacques Villeneuve, and other drivers were indeed invited by Alpine for laps in the single-seater, using last year’s A521.

This report produced by Canal+ and entitled “Jacques is back” will be unveiled tomorrow, Sunday, on Canal+, before the Grand Prix of Singapore race.
Jacques Villeneuve went to Enstone for the occasion to mold a seat to his size and was able to complete 18 laps on the Monza circuit with the guidance of Esteban Ocon who was present on site.
“It was an incredible experience,” rejoiced Jacques Villeneuve. “The last F1 car I drove was in 2006 and it’s nothing compared to modern F1 cars. It was great to work again with engineers and a team, seriously. It brought back a lot of good memories. I’ve already driven with this team in 2004 and I saw familiar faces in the garage,” he explained. Indeed, Alpine invited Alan Permane, former track engineer of Villeneuve and current sporting director of Alpine, to support Villeneuve, just like back in the day.”
« It’s not every day that you can drive an F1 in your fifties. It was truly… magnificent.

See you tomorrow, Sunday, October 2nd to watch the report.
