Jacques Villeneuve will once again put on football boots, or rather put on a racing suit and a helmet for his greatest pleasure. Alpine and Canal+ are jointly organizing a special day on Wednesday, September 14th in Monza. Several personalities, including Stéphane de Groodt as well, will have the opportunity to test the French single-seater car, and while we already knew the names of de Groodt and Villeneuve, Julien Fébreau also confirmed it on his social networks yesterday.

Since 2013, with the arrival of Canal+ as the official broadcaster for Formula 1 in France, the duo Julien Fébreau – Jacques Villeneuve has been providing an intense and as realistic as possible commentary to the viewers gathered in front of each Grand Prix.

Jacques Villeneuve, who won the title 25 years ago with a Williams-Renault, was invited to a test session on the iconic Monza track. « It happened thanks to his connections with Canal+, the French team, and French television, and I won with Renault 25 years ago », Jacques Villeneuve told Motorsport.com.

He will be accompanied, of course, by his long-time accomplice on Canal+ microphones, Julien Fébreau. For the latter, it’s a whole different story. Despite being a rally or circuit driver in his spare time (Mitjet, GT prototypes, Trophée Andros, …), the journalist is aware of the difficulty of driving a single-seater. “It’s an extremely complex project to implement, as the car is neither restricted nor assisted,” he said on Twitter. “It’s ‘ready to race’! Needless to say, I am currently going through several preparation stages to obtain the final green light from Alpine F1 Team!”

Visibly delighted by this experience, Julien Fébreau shared his joy on the little bird social network: “I am infinitely happy to confirm that Jacques Villeneuve and myself will have the incredible privilege of getting on board the victorious Alpine A521 from last year in Hungary, driven by Esteban Ocon! Jacques will pilot… and I will drive! I will soon share this incredible adventure with you in a documentary series that you will find on all our digital platforms on Canal+, and of course, on our regular channels!”

We’re already eager to discover the behind-the-scenes of the show, which will allow the numerous fans to dive even deeper into the world of Formula 1.
