Daniel Ricciardo loses 2 points on his driver’s license after his collision

Daniel Ricciardo was the author of one of the most beautiful overtakes of the Hungarian Grand Prix, passing both Alpines in the same corner while they were too busy getting in each other’s way. However, a few laps later, with hard tires, the Australian found himself in difficulty and could not avoid the collision.

Too wide entering turn 2 and with oversteer, the McLaren driver couldn’t take the corner and collided with Stroll’s Aston Martin, causing him to spin.

Ricciardo was deemed responsible for the collision and was penalized with a 5-second addition to his track time. In addition to that, the stewards awarded him a 2-point penalty on his driver’s license. Ricciardo now only has 8 points remaining on his license.

The McLaren driver finishes the Grand Prix of Hungary in 15th position, losing one place to Mick Schumacher due to this penalty.
