The qualifications for the Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix will be delayed by 15 minutes and will therefore start at 4:15 pm instead of 4 pm. The same 15-minute delay also applies to the Free Practice 3 session.
The regulations require a 2-hour gap between the end of Free Practice 3 and the Qualifying session. This is the reason for the delay, as FP3 was postponed due to a technical issue on the circuit involving damaged tecpro walls.
These tecpro walls are located at the end of the straight line at turn 1 of the Baku circuit. They were hit and pierced by Formula 2 cars during the sprint race that took place earlier this morning.
The repairs taking longer, the Free Practice 3 session of Formula 1 had to be delayed.
So meet at 4:15 PM for the qualifications.
