Haas will drive on Sunday to make up for their absence this morning in Sakhir

Haas had announced earlier in the week that they had encountered a logistic setback and would not be able to take part in the start of the trials on Thursday morning. The teams are currently giving their approval to catch up on this delay by Sunday.

Haas will drive on Sunday to make up for their absence this morning in Sakhir

Exceptionally, the Haas team should be able to run on their own Sunday morning or afternoon to make up for the delay they have accumulated for reasons beyond their control this Thursday.

Indeed, the Haas team announced earlier this week that they had a logistical problem due to an airplane being stuck at an airport, preventing them from receiving their equipment for the start of Thursday’s trials.

The team’s director commented on Canal+ microphone: “Our air freights were blocked for 48 hours and we only retrieved them on Tuesday evening.”

« The half-day that we lost this morning will be able to be made up on Sunday. It’s not ideal, but all the teams seem to agree with this solution. It’s not as good as if we were racing with everyone, because we don’t have the references of the other teams on the track. »

This Thursday morning, the team was able to install the race cars in the garage, but the computer systems and the pitwall (screen wall in front of the garage) were not ready. The team should therefore be able to drive this afternoon with Fittipaldi.

The Brazilian driver is the reserve driver and is replacing Nikita Mazepin this week, while Haas announced yesterday that they have hired Kevin Magnussen for the 2022 season.
