F1 will prevent bodyguards of stars from accessing the starting grid

With Formula 1 having reduced its Covid-19 related restrictions, journalists and consultants now have more freedom to move around the starting grids.

Celebrities and VIPs are also taking advantage of these relaxations to stroll along the fences as they did in the past. However, a small incident occurred before the last United States Grand Prix.

While former pilot, and now consultant, Martin Brundle approached Megan Thee Stallion (invited by Red Bull), the Englishman was chased away by the rapper’s bodyguards. Their behavior had shocked Brundle, who had called for more manners and respect.

According to Autosport, from now on, bodyguards will be banned on the starting grid and celebrities will have to show more courtesy even if they refuse interviews.

Brundle spoke out on the subject again. I don’t care who visits the F1 grid. Talk to me if you want, ignore me, shake my hand, do whatever makes you happy. All I ask is that people soak up the atmosphere of a Grand Prix and enjoy this privilege. However, I have not asked for any change in protocol.
