The evolution in the rankings after the United States Grand Prix
As the suspense is at its peak in the competition for the World Championship title and in the Constructors' Championship, the Austin Grand Prix seems to give the advantage to Red Bull. Scuderia Ferrari, on the other hand, is catching up with its closest rival, McLaren.
This year, the competition is animated by the duel between the impressive Max Verstappen and the seven-time world champion, Sir Lewis Hamilton. Will the Briton manage to surpass Michael Schumacher by winning an eighth world title, while the threat of Max Verstappen makes this ascent challenging? Only the rest of the season will tell us. However, at the end of this Sunday, it is indeed the Dutch driver who is leading the ranking with 287.5 points against 275.5 points. Max Verstappen thus takes a 12-point lead over his rival.

With Max Verstappen’s victory and Sergio Perez’s third place, Red Bull continues to gain valuable points in the fight for the constructors’ world championship. Indeed, with 40 points scored this weekend, the Austrian team is now only 23 points behind Mercedes, getting closer to the world title. However, this Sunday, October 24, Red Bull is not the only team making headlines. Indeed, the legendary team with the prancing horse has also caught up with McLaren.

Ferrari is getting closer to McLaren.
Although the battle for the first place in the championship promises to keep us in suspense during the last five races of the season, the battle for the third place in the championship is also exciting. Indeed, since the beginning of the season, McLaren and Ferrari have been neck and neck, but in recent races, Ferrari has been gradually catching up with the famous Papaya team. At the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Ferrari scored 18 points compared to 14 for McLaren, reducing the gap to just 3.5 points.
With only 10 seconds gap with his predecessor, Charles Leclerc finishes his race with 32-second lead over his teammate, Carlos Sainz, who finishes 7th. At the end of this race, the Monegasque driver thus takes 6th place in the championship with a total of 128 points, compared to 122.5 for the Spaniard. Now 5.5 points separate the two Ferrari drivers.
A mixed Grand Prix for McLaren.
The Australian driver, Daniel Ricciardo, collided with the Spaniard, Carlos Sainz, and his teammate, Lando Norris, during the first lap. At the end of this lap, during which the Spaniard and the Australian changed positions no less than three times, it was nevertheless the McLaren driver who managed to come out on top. However, on the 43rd lap, the drivers once again fought for 5th position. It was during this attack that the two drivers ended up touching each other, damaging the front wing of the Ferrari driver. Daniel Ricciardo, thus, emerged victorious ahead of the Spaniard at the end of this race.
As the outcome of this weekend seemed to be more than positive for the Australian, it was not the case for his teammate, Lando Norris, who thus falls back to fifth place in the championship with only 1 point behind the Mexican, Sergio Perez.
