Aston Martin and Sebastian Vettel are disqualified from the Hungarian Grand Prix, this is the decision to remember for now.
However, his team announced at 10:14 pm on Sunday evening the intention to appeal this decision of the race commissioners.
The team explained that there was approximately 1.44 liters of fuel left in Vettel’s car, but due to the way the fuel was situated, it was not possible to extract at least 1 liter of fuel to provide a sample to the FIA.
This sample, intended to be analyzed, is a failure to comply with regulations and therefore a disqualification sanction. The FIA announced that car No. 5 would therefore be sealed pending clarification of the situation.
The FIA technical department has been ordered to seal car number 5 until the FIA takes further action.
Aston Martin will still be able to remove parts of the single-seater that are not linked to the fuel system, confirms the press release.
