Charles Leclerc and his new Iberian teammate, Carlos Sainz, will take the wheel of a 2018 Ferrari for two days, this Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Monegasque driver will be driving the Ferrari at Fiorano, on Ferrari’s official test track in winter conditions. He will drive on Tuesday, while Carlos Sainz will take the wheel after him on Wednesday.

Carlos Sainz, coming from McLaren, will thus make his first laps behind the wheel of a Ferrari. Even though the car is from 2018, the goal will be to learn Ferrari’s procedures and get accustomed to the ergonomic differences of the steering wheel and other technical procedures.

Note that yesterday, Monday, it was the drivers of the FDA (Ferrari Driver Academy) who were behind the wheel of the SF71H.

Ferrari announced 5 test days this week and 7 different drivers. The team will therefore continue testing on Thursday and Friday with two other drivers: Mick Schumacher and Callum Ilott. The Swiss-German driver Mick Schumacher has been officially announced within the Haas F1 Team in F1 this season and will therefore drive within the Scuderia in the FDA program while Ilott is still in F2 this season. They will drive on Thursday and Friday.
