Bottas: eager to start from scratch in 2021
Bottas finishes the 2020 season with a second place in Abu Dhabi, ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton. The Finn thanks his team for this victorious year.
Winner in 2017 at the Yas Marina circuit, Valtteri Bottas could only manage a second place this Sunday.
Satisfied to finish ahead of his teammate, he congratulates Red Bull at the end of the Grand Prix: « Max (Verstappen) was going way too fast today, which was a bit surprising. Our pace was more or less identical, but he managed to control the race, which prevented me from getting closer to him throughout the race. »
He is quite complimentary about his race: « I had a solid race, without error, and I felt that I couldn’t have done better. I finished ahead of my teammate and found myself back on the podium, which I’d been missing a bit lately ».
When asked about his prospects for the winter, he replies: « I still have some commitments over the next week, then I will try to enjoy my family and reset for next year by training hard ».
He concludes by thanking his team: « I am proud of my team and the season we have had, and I am very happy that we have once again finished by achieving the double in the drivers’ standings. »
