The new format of the German Touring Car Championship will kick off in just two months. Since the creation of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in 2000, the ITR (its promoter) has frequently revised its approach from one season to the next. The 2015 DTM season will obviously be no exception to this rule. Here's a brief - still incomplete - overview of what to expect this year.

Excluded from the new points system allowing for the awarding of the super license, an essential entry ticket to Formula 1, DTM has expressed its dissatisfaction to the FIA. Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, the three manufacturers involved in the competition, have sent a letter to the International Federation, requesting a review.
