Sebastian Vettel's ambitions collapsed along with one of his suspensions today in Singapore. However, the driver is not dissociating himself from his team. The Italian team was disappointing overall, with Kimi Räikkönen finishing a modest 5th.

The bright night of Marina Bay was the setting for Nico Rosberg's convincing pole position. Mercedes dominated proceedings overall, but Red Bull could be satisfied with Daniel Ricciardo's second place, ahead of Lewis Hamilton! The battle for pole looks set to be tighter than ever in 2016. Even if Nico Rosberg set the fastest time, the margin with Max Verstappen, the lizard hunter, was (still!) miniscule. Daniel Ricciardo and the Ferraris are also on the right track. Uncomfortable in his braking phases, Hamilton failed to set any real benchmark lap.

Accident for Rosberg in FP1, hydraulic problem for Lewis Hamilton in FP2... Both Mercedes drivers experienced their share of difficulties this Friday in Singapore. Fortunately, they both performed well: with the German setting the fastest time in FP2, the outlook is good for the rest of the race.

As expected, the Red Bull team was within touching distance of a very good result for the rest of the action in Singapore. Everything went very well on Friday, both for Max Verstappen (first in FP1) and Daniel Ricciardo.

The night session saw the big guns battle it out for the fastest time. Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull were all within a few tenths of each other, with the notable exception of Lewis Hamilton, who was forced to shorten his session due to hydraulic problems. This time, the ultra-tendres showed interesting potential. Also of note was Grosjean's serious off-track excursion midway through the session.

Max Verstappen took the lead after the first laps in Singapore, with a time of 1:45.823, achieved in ultra-soft conditions. Daniel Ricciardo completed a Red Bull one-two at the top of the timesheet, ahead of Sebastian Vettel. Right behind them, Hamilton and Rosberg set their best times in soft tyres, but the German cut his session short after a heavy touch with the wall!
