Friday: Force India takes one step back and three steps forward

It is somewhat like a waltz that has been happening since the start of the weekend at Force India. The Indian team ran both its regular drivers today as well as Nico Hülkenberg, their reserve driver. Di Resta was the only one to participate in both practice sessions and yet he could not take part in the afternoon session. The Scottish driver suffered from a problem on his car. Adrian Sutil and Nico Hülkenberg, who shared the second car, are satisfied with their respective sessions. Force India remains a confident team before the qualifying rounds.

Friday: Force India takes one step back and three steps forward

Adrian Sutil – 7th:

« My practice session was very good: the whole team worked really well, and I’m really happy to have been able to focus on the usual things we do on Fridays, without any mechanical incidents. I was able to improve my setup for qualifying and the race. We weren’t far off the best times, and after a few laps, I had full confidence in the car. With the hard tires, the balance of the car is good. I hope it will be even better for the rest of the weekend, probably thanks to the improvements we’ve made here. The soft tires also worked well once installed. All that’s missing is another session like this tomorrow, and I’ll be very happy! »

Paul Di Resta – 15th and 24th:

« We had a slight idea of the car’s rhythm this morning, but I couldn’t run during free practice 2, which is crucial for improving the car. It might be complicated tomorrow because I have tires in stock that I will never use… and I think I’ll be at a disadvantage, especially since I couldn’t do my race simulation properly. The team is working very hard though, so I’m confident about making up for lost time as early as tomorrow morning… »

Nico Hülkenberg – 13th:

«It was another positive day today. I am very happy with this morning’s session. Everything went well, and I think our tests were conclusive.»
