Photos: A Friday in Canada
The photos from the first day of the Canadian Grand Prix, already the seventh race of the 2011 season, are online. More than a hundred photographs await you. They are available for enthusiasts to explore the innovations and better understand the drivers' performances during these free practice sessions.
This Friday, the drivers rediscovered the Gilles Villeneuve circuit with some new infrastructure such as the pit stalls and driver suites.
The most surprising thing this Friday was nonetheless the number of visitors in the stands. The public has turned out in large numbers this year in Montreal, and the organizers expect no less than 300,000 tickets sold over the three days.
Fans of Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso are of course present, but it’s to see Michael Schumacher again that many have made the trip.
In this album you will also find the technical innovations on the single-seaters that are changing the front wing in particular. The R31 of LRGP is testing with a new rear wing while Ferrari is bringing a new diffuser.
