Sutil still with Force India in 2012?

While Paul Di Resta's position at Force India seems assured for next season, the same does not apply to Adrian Sutil, who is competing with Nico Hülkenberg for a spot as a main driver in 2012...

Sutil still with Force India in 2012?

Adrian Sutil has only known the team based in Silverstone since his debut in Formula 1, despite the various ownership changes. From Spyker in 2007 to Midland and then Force India, the German driver seemed almost immovable until now. But no one is immovable in Formula 1, and Sutil now appears to be in rivalry with the team’s third driver, the promising Nico Hülkenberg.

« He (Nico Hülkenberg, editor’s note) did very good things last year with Williams and he deserves a second chance, » said Sutil about his compatriot. It is true that Hülkenberg was able to be convincing in 2010, with a standout moment being a surprise pole position in Brazil… But the young driver could not keep his seat within the Grove-based team due to a lack of financial support.

Adrian Sutil also confirmed that his first choice would still be Force India for 2012: « Of course I’m aware of the rumors sending me to another team, but I’m someone loyal and my priority will be Force India ». To whom it may concern…

On his side, the third driver of the Indian team seems confident in his chances of racing next season: “I have adapted very well at Force India and I have real chances of racing in 2012,” even specifying that “other teams have shown interest.”

Currently, the Force India team is seventh in the provisional world championship standings with 32 points.
