As expected, the Red Bulls and McLarens were the strong cars today. Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button, and Lewis Hamilton battled both in the final practice session and in qualifying. It was the German Vettel who came out on top. For this second day of the Japanese Grand Prix, the Red Bull driver is the favorite to win the race and especially the 2011 championship.

Vettel is 9 milliseconds ahead of Jenson Button. The gaps are tight, and emotions ran high today during the qualifying. Relive these moments in pictures with a hundred photographs of Formula 1.
