Sutil is eager to be confirmed for 2012
As increasingly persistent rumors circulate in the paddock about his replacement by Nico Hülkenberg at Force India next season, Adrian Sutil has expressed his impatience to know his future with the Indian team.
« I can’t wait until December, » said Adrian Sutil regarding the announcement of his appointment or not at Force India for the next season.
It is true that the German driver is still waiting to be confirmed for 2012, and he has indicated that he will soon discuss the matter with the team principal of the Indian team, Vijay Mallya: « I will talk about it with him very soon, so I will know what his plans are ».
While his young teammate Paul di Resta seems to be favorably impressing his team in his first year in Formula 1 – he is currently ranked 14th with 21 points – the gap created by Sutil in the championship would not be considered sufficient (the German is currently 11th with 28 points). Thus, the young Scotsman would be assured of his place as a regular driver in the Silverstone-based team, but not Adrian Sutil, who some already see being replaced by the team’s third driver, Nico Hülkenberg.
« I don’t need to wait that long for a seat. I know what I’m capable of, so I’m not worried, » concluded the 28-year-old driver.
