A new president for Renault Sport F1 in 2012
At the head of the French organization since 2007, Bernard Rey will step down as president of Renault Sport F1 starting from January 1, 2012.
Key figure of the company with the diamond emblem in Formula 1, Bernard Rey, the current president of Renault Sport F1, will leave the French manufacturer as of January 2012, at the age of 65.
Rey was appointed head of Renault Sport in September 2007. He will be replaced in this role by Jean-Michel Jalinier. This 58-year-old man has been with the Renault group since 1985.
Jean-Pierre Jalinier first held key positions within the Flins and Cléon factories. He was subsequently appointed CEO of Renault in Russia (in 2003), then was named president of Renault Brazil in 2009. His career takes a whole new turn by joining the management of the French automaker’s sports department.
Let us recall that in 2012, Renault Sport F1 will power four teams in the premier discipline: Red Bull Racing, Lotus (Lotus Renault GP this year), Caterham F1 (Team Lotus this season), and Williams.
