Private Tests – Day 3: Three for Vergne and Red Bull
Jean-Eric Vergne once again delivered the best performance of the day. The Frenchman at the wheel of the Red Bull has shown throughout the week that he has the potential to make it to Formula 1. He registered his best time just 0.4 seconds off Sebastian Vettel's pole position. Sam Bird is second in the Mercedes GP, ahead of Jules Bianchi in the Ferrari, who had been in third place since the start of private testing in Abu Dhabi.
Jean-Eric Vergne finished as runner-up in the World Series by Renault. With potential, the Frenchman dominated this week of private tests under the heat of Abu Dhabi. With 32°C in the air, the Red Bull Renault showed that it had few contenders.
Thus, Sam Bird finishes second on this third and final day of private testing. The Mercedes driver tried various innovations today, including the exhausts and notably tested the behavior of the single-seater with the 2012 version Pirelli tires.
Bird drove at the end of the session focusing on performance. He thus beats Jules Bianchi at the last minute. The French driver, a tester for Ferrari, did not improve his morning time. Turvey in the McLaren-Mercedes is 4th, ahead of Max Chilton who was testing the Force India. While performing his fast laps when a red flag was waved, Max Chilton couldn’t show the full potential of the Force India.
Gutierrez in the Sauber follows in 6th position on the timesheet. He is ahead of Bortolotti who replaced Bottas at Williams and Kevin Ceccon in the Toro Rosso, who shared the wheel with Stefano Colleti. The Monegasque was driving in the morning.
Alexander Rossi was driving for Team Lotus. He finished 9th, ahead of the Lotus Renault GP of Jan Charouz. At the back of the grid with the Virgins, Robert Wickens, winner of the World Series by Renault (ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne), finished in 13th position, 0.4 seconds ahead of Charles Pic… The Frenchman was driving for Virgin once again but did not set the fastest time.
An assessment will be carried out on casinoenlignefrance.eu.com very soon to draw conclusions from these private tests.
