Australian GP: Check the TV Schedule!

Four months ago, the 2011 Formula 1 season ended in Brazil, at the Interlagos circuit. 120 days later, a new season begins in F1 with it new hopes, new questions but an undiminished desire to hear the roar of the V8 engines.

To not miss anything from the first Grand Prix of the season, which will take place in Melbourne (Australia) starting this weekend, here is the summarized TV schedule for French, Swiss, and Belgian channels.

This year, it’s the same players and we start again. In France, TF1 and Eurosport continue to share the broadcast of the Grand Prix. Eurosport airs the free practice sessions on Friday and Saturday as well as the qualifying, while TF1 will broadcast the races live. For those without cable, new means allow not missing the qualifying session on Eurosport. Indeed, for the past three years, Eurosport has offered a monthly subscription to its Internet player. You can watch all the Grand Prix sessions for less than €5/month. Additionally, in recent weeks, some regions can choose to subscribe to Eurosport via TNT or their ADSL TV package for a few extra euros on their Internet bill.

With a Grand Prix taking place on the other side of the planet, you will have to get up very early this weekend, as early as 2:30 a.m. to watch the free practice 1. The qualifying sessions and the race will be more accessible, scheduled for 7 a.m.

As last year, TF1 will offer 15-20 minutes of circuit presentation with Denis Brogniart and Marion Jolles shortly before the departures. As usual, Christophe Malbranque, Jacques Laffite, and Jean-Louis Moncet will comment on the race. The coverage will be more extensive upon the return of F1 to the old continent.

The Australian GP on the Radio

You can also follow the Australian Grand Prix – if you don’t have a television or are on the move – by listening to it on the Radio. The frequencies naturally depend on your place of residence, and several stations will broadcast the Grand Prix live. The timings are the same as those presented in the Live. RMC will broadcast the race and the qualifications with the program Intégrale F1, commented by Patrick Tambay and Jean-Luc Roy.
