Friday: Kobayashi satisfied with his Sauber, Pérez less so
Mixed results for Sauber at the end of this first day. The morning was disrupted by rain, and in the afternoon, Sergio Pérez encountered braking problems. Now, the data needs to be analyzed so that the Mexican's C31 can regain a good pace tomorrow in qualifying. On the other side of the garage, Kamui Kobayashi is satisfied with this first Chinese run.
Kamui Kobayashi – 5th and 7th
« We had a few minor issues to resolve, but overall everything went well today. Sometimes visibility was a bit low, which didn’t help in knowing where the track was slippery. My car was clearly better balanced in the afternoon than in the morning, and I think we are good on this track. Obviously, there is still room for improvement in terms of the setup. »
Sergio Pérez – 4th and 11th
The balance of my car was better in the morning session compared to the afternoon. I was not satisfied during the second session. I had problems with the brakes, which were not working as they should, and I was losing temperature on the front tires on the straight. It was too easy to lock the front. We need to improve the balance for qualifying. We have work to do now, but we have gathered a lot of data.
