Friday: Heat suits Red Bull well
Red Bull seems to be back on track in Bahrain. Vettel has reverted to the same exhaust version as his teammate and is doing quite well with a second and a third fastest time during the two sessions of the day. Webber is not far off as he was also in the top 10 this morning and was ahead of his teammate in the afternoon.
Sebastian Vettel – 2nd and 3rd
« We drove a lot today, which is a good thing. Regarding the settings, I think we got some answers in China, and it helped us here. Now we need to see where we stand compared to the others. It is very hot here, so the tires are suffering a bit, but it’s the same for all the teams. I think the others are the favorites for this weekend, but we are focused on ourselves and pushing to the maximum. We’ve made a step forward, but we’ll see where we are tomorrow. »
Mark Webber – 8th and 2nd
« It was a bit complicated on the track. The tires were a bit of a surprise for everyone in terms of their behavior. They lose grip quite quickly, but it’s the same for everyone. There are some fast cars, and obviously, we don’t know the fuel quantities others had, but it seems very tight. The tires will play a big role on Sunday. »
