Friday: Sauber drivers satisfied with their settings
Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Pérez were rather satisfied with their first day of testing in Canada. However, the two Sauber drivers know that there is still work to be done, especially since the track conditions are expected to change for tomorrow's qualifying, but they remain optimistic for the rest of the weekend.
Kamui Kobayashi – 7th and 6th
«I am happy because we had a good day today. It was nice that the weather conditions remained stable and the rain only came after the second testing session was over. I think we are good regarding the settings, but it is difficult to say what will happen tomorrow as we expect to have a much higher track temperature. For me, both types of tires, the soft and the super-soft, seem good. The difference is quite small. »
Sergio Pérez – 8th and 11th
«My car is very well balanced with a lot of fuel, but we need to improve in qualifying conditions, as we are not there yet. However, I feel that we can be competitive here, and I’m looking forward to my first qualifying session and my first race on this track. Getting used to the circuit was not an issue because I knew it from the first practice session last year and also thanks to the simulator.»
