Friday: Force India drivers in discovery mode

Nico Hülkenberg and Paul di Resta, like all the drivers, discovered the new circuit in Texas. Austin impressed Hülkenberg, while di Resta prefers to focus on improvements to the car's setup. The hostilities are just beginning.

Friday: Force India drivers in discovery mode

Nico Hülkenberg – 7th and 17th:

I believe the organizers have created an enormous track! It’s super fun to drive here, and the turns are all different which gives it rhythm. Compared to all the new tracks, I think this is one of my favorites. The day went smoothly, but we must ensure we have enough data to fine-tune the car’s settings. We seemed competitive this morning and a bit more challenged during FP2. Therefore, we will need to find more grip tonight.

Paul Di Resta – 11th and 18th:

« I said yesterday that finding the right operating window for the tires would be difficult – and it proved true today. The track is very slippery and the temperatures are not very high, which did not help us… We identified some problems and found a good foundation to optimize the setup. We still have to work hard to make the car easier to drive. Regarding the circuit, it is very wide and there are good corners, particularly in the first sector. Many corners are on a gradient, which adds an extra challenge when driving. »
