Dekra joins Nico Hülkenberg at Sauber
The German company Dekra, supporter of Nico Hülkenberg and former sponsor of Michael Schumacher, has announced it will follow its driver to Sauber by becoming an official partner of the Swiss team.
Nico Hülkenberg has been supported throughout his career by Michael Schumacher’s former sponsor, Dekra. The German service provider is thus continuing its commitment by becoming an official partner of his new team, Sauber.
Dekra had already used the services of its protégé as part of a road safety communication campaign when he was with Williams.
The partnership between the driver and his sponsor will therefore take the same form as last year at Force India: the Dekra logo will be featured on the Sauber-colored cap that the German prodigy will wear during all his public appearances. It is not planned for this logo to be visible on other communication platforms of the team, even if the service provider becomes an official partner of the team.
Clemens Klinke, who is responsible for the automotive unit on the executive committee of the German company, stated: “We are delighted to launch our partnership with the Sauber F1 Team for the next Formula 1 season and thus strengthen our long-term association with Nico Hülkenberg. A long shared history unites us, and we are firmly committed to continuing it in 2013. Nico’s successes have already been followed with great enthusiasm by the management and employees of Dekra around the world since his debut in 2010. We are convinced he will create even more sensation now that he has joined the Sauber F1 Team.”
