InstaForex joins Marussia in Malaysia and Singapore
A year before Russia joins the F1 calendar, Marussia is striving to multiply Russian sponsors. Thus, InstaForex will be present alongside the Anglo-Russian team during the Malaysian and Singapore races.
This is not the first time Marussia has partnered with a company specializing in Forex operations, namely the currency exchange market. Indeed, it had established a significant partnership with FxPro during its first season in 2010. At the time, the two partners conducted an original operation by organizing a virtual race linked to the currency markets.
Today, the agreement with InstaForex is much more limited. It only concerns two races, those in Malaysia and Singapore. This part of the world must therefore be at the heart of its business strategy. The Russian company thus has only limited space, as it involves the tips of the front wings of Jules Bianchi and Max Chilton.
Given that no company executives wished to speak publicly on the matter, the agreement seems to hold more significance for the team, which comments on the announcement through its CEO Andy Webb: “We are delighted to welcome InstaForex to the Marussia F1 Team, our second partnership with a major Russian company announced in as many weeks. As an Anglo-Russian team eagerly anticipating the inaugural Russian Grand Prix in Sochi next season, we are thrilled that our clear progress over the winter and strong start to the season are being rewarded with such enthusiasm and support ‘at home.’ This partnership and the access it provides to our team is a new way in which we can help bring Formula 1 to Russia and bring more of Russia to our sport.”
