Saturday: Red Bull looks pale but remains positive for the race

Red Bull did not shine with its results in qualifying today. Sebastian Vettel made it to Q3 but didn't participate in the session to save his tires for the race. He will start 9th. Mark Webber, on the other hand, ran out of fuel in Q2. Initially 14th, he will ultimately start last after being disqualified by the track marshals.

Saturday: Red Bull looks pale but remains positive for the race

Sebastian Vettel – 4th and 9th:

« We are obviously on a different strategy from the cars in front of us. More effective or not, we’ll see tomorrow, but I’m confident. We made the right choices based on what we knew. It’s a different approach from the usual qualifying. Everything happened in the last minutes for everyone. All the drivers went out at the same time, but it’s not a problem. We have the advantage of being able to choose our tires for tomorrow. So we’ll see. »

Mark Webber – 5th and 14th [22nd on the grid after disqualification]:

« It’s very disappointing. Q1 went well. I was satisfied with the car and we had a good strategy for the rest of the qualifying. In Q2, I lost fuel pressure, so I had to stop the car and therefore couldn’t return to the pits. I had to stop on the track, so my qualifying ended right there – even before it really started for me. We need a bit of luck now. It’s not the ideal position to start from, but there’s still work to be done. »
