Sunday: Red Bull followed the rhythm of the tires, not the car

None of the Red Bull cars made it to the podium, but the feelings are mixed: Sebastian Vettel feels that his tire management didn't allow him to go faster and finish better than fourth, while Mark Webber is pleased to have been able to climb back to fifth place after a completely missed start.

Sunday: Red Bull followed the rhythm of the tires, not the car

Sebastian Vettel – 4th:

« I think we can be happy with our fourth place today. The first three cars were a bit faster than us and they managed their tires better. We need to come back: we are not going at the car’s pace, we are going at the tires’ pace and obviously, we need to do something to make the tires last longer. We scored good points today, even though we obviously wanted more. The start was good. After that, we tried to stick to a three-stop strategy but we had to change to make four stops. »

Mark Webber – 5th:

« To be honest, we really struggled today. The Ferraris and Lotuses were in a bit of a different league than us, and it was tough to fight with them today. I think we got the most out of what we had, especially since at the first corner I was probably 14th or 15th. So coming back to get this result was pretty good. We managed to get back on track, but we were always a bit on the defensive in terms of tire management and therefore pace. If you don’t have the right pace, you can’t have a magic strategy. I’m happy with the way I drove and we scored a few points, but it’s not the result we wanted.»
