Sunday: Williams wasn’t far from the points
Valtteri Bottas nearly scored his first points in F1 but had to settle for 12th place. As for Pastor Maldonado, his race ended after a big collision with Max Chilton's Marussia, which led to the neutralization of the race.
Valtteri Bottas – 12th:
« It was difficult to overtake in today’s race. Even though sometimes we felt like we had the right pace, we couldn’t make the maneuvers we wanted. There was a lot of action in this race. So I’m happy to have brought the car home. We need to keep working because Montreal is a track where it’s easier to overtake. We need to make sure we have the necessary speed to attack and defend. »
Pastor Maldonado – Retirement:
« It’s a really unfortunate accident today with the Marussia and the impact was quite big. Fortunately, I’m fine and the stewards took action immediately. We need to forget about this disappointing weekend but I’m looking forward to Canada, where we will continue to demonstrate the car’s improvement. »
