Paul di Resta excluded from qualifying sessions
The FIA stewards have decided to exclude Paul di Resta from the qualifications since his car was weighed with 1.5 kilos less than the regulatory weight. He is therefore placed last for his home Grand Prix.
If the opinion of Jo Bauer, the FIA technical delegate, had decided to refer the case of the Scottish driver to the stewards, their decision took time to be announced in the press room. It is now done and it is final: Paul di Resta is excluded from the qualifying session.
The one who stated during Thursday’s press conference that the three days of the weekend must go well, after two races complicated by starting from the back of the grid, finds himself exactly where he didn’t want to be. He will therefore have to use his car’s capabilities to the fullest to climb back into the points by the end of the race.
