The FIA reprimands Nico Rosberg after his race at Silverstone
Nico Rosberg had to go to the stewards' office after the British Grand Prix, but the German driver gets away with a simple reprimand and therefore keeps his victory.
After the 2013 British Grand Prix held at Silverstone, Nico Rosberg – who crossed the finish line as the winner – had to meet with the race stewards. Indeed, the German driver was under investigation for not slowing down while yellow flags were being waved in front of him.
Following the collision between Adrian Sutil and Nico Hülkenberg on lap 36, yellow flags were waved in turns 3 and 4 due to debris, but the Mercedes driver managed to improve his first sector at the same time and was therefore summoned by the stewards – among whom was Nigel Mansell this weekend. The risk for the German was to have his victory annulled for breaching the regulations. Rosberg ultimately retains his victory at Silverstone but receives a reprimand.
Before him, two other drivers were also reprimanded, Lewis Hamilton for not positioning himself correctly when entering the pits during free practice and Jules Bianchi for missing a ride through the weighbridge yesterday during the qualifying session.
Note that after 3 reprimands, a driver incurs a 5-place grid penalty.
