Saturday: Marussia gets closer
Jules Bianchi's health has improved compared to his stomach issues from yesterday. He managed to finish 20th in the qualifying with a pace close to the rest of the pack. On the other hand, Max Chilton was unable to raise his performance with the soft tires and will therefore start last.
Jules Bianchi – 20th and 20th
This morning, I felt much better than yesterday but I am not yet at 100%. I think therefore that an additional night of rest will do me good. It felt good to get back in the car this morning and start picking up speed, which we did quite well. It took time to find a balance that suits us but we are in a good position for tomorrow and I am looking forward to seeing what we can do in race pace. The key will be to get ahead of Charles [Pic] as quickly as possible and stay there!
Max Chilton – 22nd and 22nd
I was obviously hoping for more since van der Garde has been within striking distance since the start of the weekend. I seemed to struggle more in qualifying and didn’t manage to get the most out of the car. In a way, it’s good news since we can rely on our higher race pace. We will carefully review all the data tonight and give everything to fight with the Caterham tomorrow.
