Pic reprimanded after an incident with Vettel
Charles Pic was reprimanded by the stewards of the Belgian Grand Prix for rejoining the track in a dangerous manner after running wide at the bus stop chicane, thereby hindering Sebastian Vettel.
Charles Pic received a reprimand after an incident with Sebastian Vettel during the second free practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix. The Frenchman attempted an overtaking move on his Caterham teammate, Giedo van der Garde, at the bus stop chicane but missed, forcing both men to go wide.
Returning to the track in a somewhat cavalier manner, Pic significantly hindered Vettel, who was forced to avoid the collision, thus ruining his lap.
The Frenchman was reprimanded by the stewards for having caused a dangerous situation by rejoining the track. It is the first time Charles Pic has been caught by the officials this season, leaving him with two more chances. Indeed, after three reprimands, a driver receives a 5-place grid penalty.
The Caterham driver is the 8th driver to receive a reprimand since the beginning of the season after Adrian Sutil, Kimi Räikkönen, Mark Webber, Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton, Jules Bianchi, and Nico Rosberg.
