This weekend, Formula 1 stops at an atypical circuit, Monza in Italy – one of the fastest of the season. With its long straights, it forces teams to set up the cars with the least amount of downforce so they can speed at full throttle.
Friday’s free practice sessions saw Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel leading the way. The German driver did it again this morning during free practice 3 and he seems to be the favorite at the wheel of his Red Bull on the Italian track. However, he will still have to watch out for Scuderia Ferrari and its star driver Fernando Alonso, as the Maranello team is at home and wants to shine in front of the Tifosi, who are as numerous as ever in the stands.
We will also have to count on the McLarens, the Mercedes, and the Lotus, and why not on the Saubers and the Toro Rossos as well, because the gaps are small at Monza.
