Sunday: Sahara Force India grabs the point for 10th place
Adrian Sutil managed to secure the point for 10th place, but Sahara Force India could have scored more points if not for Paul di Resta's retirement seven laps from the end.
Adrian Sutil – 10th: « It was a difficult and exhausting race. So it’s great to come away with a point, and it’s a small motivation for the whole team. In the last laps, I was catching up with the train of cars ahead of me, Perez, Button, and Hülkenberg. I thought I might have a chance to finish ahead of at least one of them, but as soon as I got to the back of that train, my tires got destroyed. In fact, we all struggled with the tires, and I couldn’t push any further because it felt like driving on ice. So I’m happy to score this point, which is deserved for the whole team. »
Paul di Resta – 20th: « It’s really a shame to leave with nothing from a race where we could have positioned ourselves to score big points. The tire management was good and the overall performance in race conditions was very good. Even without the safety car, we were in a good position, but as a team, we made the right decisions and wanted to attack the train of cars ahead of us in the final laps. Then I had my incident at turn 7. I’m not sure yet what happened, but I took the turn the same way as I did the previous lap and the car went straight and didn’t want to stop. The team is currently looking into what happened. »
