Saturday: great satisfaction at Sauber

For the first time this season, both Saubers reached Q3 together. Nico Hülkenberg outpaced Esteban Gutiérrez, and the two drivers will occupy the fourth row of the grid. Scoring points is clearly the objective for tomorrow.

Saturday: great satisfaction at Sauber

Nico Hülkenberg – 9th and 7th

« Today went really well. Q1 and Q2 went smoothly and my lap in Q3 was good too but was a bit more difficult. I lost four tenths compared to my time in Q2 and the grip wasn’t the same as in the previous session. Starting 7th tomorrow is very positive and we can look forward to the race. The car performed well on the long runs yesterday and I’m confident we can maintain our position tomorrow. It’s so much fun to drive here. However, we must not forget that the cars in front of us are strong and we also have the McLarens behind us.

Esteban Gutiérrez – 11th and 8th

« The communication was very good today. A big thank you to the whole team. I improved in qualifying and when both cars are at the same level, you can push each other much more. It’s the first time I’m driving here. So it’s great to get this result. It’s now the second time in a row that I’ve been able to qualify well and it feels good because I’ve worked hard to improve. The race will be interesting. The track temperature changed in Q3 and I had some difficulties with the car’s balance and front grip. Tomorrow will be like today. So we have to take that into account for a consistent race. »
