Sunday: Vettel at the Top, Webber in Flames
Sebastian Vettel showed this Sunday that he completely masters the Yeongam circuit, winning the Korean GP for the third consecutive time. A great performance by the German driver. For Mark Webber, the race was fraught with obstacles, including a puncture and an incident with Sutil, which caused a fire on his car and resulted in his retirement.
Sebastian Vettel – Winner
« It was a long race today, but it’s really great to win. The start was crucial, it’s always tricky here because you’re nervous about the long straight when starting from pole. Fortunately, we had good traction, and I got a good exit from the first corner. We kept the lead and tried to control the race from there. I think Mercedes was within our reach today, but we managed to win, which is excellent. It was a very good performance from the whole team, and I’m happy. We are trying to make the most of the car at every race. »
Mark Webber – retirement:
The incident with Sutil was obviously the end of my race today. It was in turn 3 on the restart, I was looking for a big exit on the right side and wanted to use the KERS on Daniel (Ricciardo) and the Williams. Then, I don’t know what happened but Sutil obviously touched me on the inside and that’s it. There was a lot of damage to the rear of the car and I hope it hasn’t reached the chassis. We will have to check that before the next race.
