Friday: Red Bull will work to improve the RB9
Even though Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber showed strong performances during today's free practice sessions - consistently in the top 4 - both men know they still have work to do to improve their Red Bull cars. They particularly expect strong resistance from Mercedes in qualifying and are determined to fight to stay ahead of them.
Sebastian Vettel – 3rd and 1st:
The balance of the car is good, but I think we can still do better. Taking care of the tires will be important here, especially during the race. The car is working well at the moment, but we need to ensure we set it up correctly. It’s good to see where we are today, but it’s not always important; we need to raise our game for tomorrow because the Mercedes will be very strong in qualifying.
Mark Webber – 4th and 2nd:
« Over one lap, it seems quite tight with the Mercedes and the Lotus, but I haven’t precisely studied the times: it doesn’t seem too bad. We covered many laps today and we will now work for tomorrow. The track is special and in terms of difficulty, challenges are present. We have to be very precise, and if you’re not, then you’re penalized. We have to find performance tonight, it’s our job to improve every day, and we have work to do tonight to find a few more tenths. »
