Saturday: Williams regains form during qualifying
Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas both managed to qualify for Q2, which hasn't happened often this year. The two Williams drivers are delighted because it wasn't necessarily expected. This makes them optimistic, and they hope to fight for points tomorrow.
Valtteri Bottas – 17th and 13th:
« We fought for better positions than expected today after a tight qualifying session. It was a pleasant surprise, and we can be happy with our 13th position today. For the race tomorrow, we hope to be able to compete against the cars around us and fight for the top 10. »
Pastor Maldonado – 14th and 15th:
« We managed to get 100% out of the car today and we are where we expected it to be. We didn’t do much driving yesterday after the wheel issue and the afternoon accident. Overall, it hasn’t been a bad day, so we’ll see what we can do tomorrow for the race. »
