Saturday: Romain Grosjean is once again the best Lotus
As in South Korea last week, it was Romain Grosjean who delivered the best performance for Lotus in qualifying. He will start from 4th place while Kimi Räikkönen is only 9th. But the Finn is very satisfied with his car...
Kimi Räikkönen – 8th and 9th:
« The car seems much more efficient here than in the last races, even if tomorrow our position on the grid won’t be better. A small mistake on my fast lap costs me a bit of time, and since it’s very tight here, such a small time loss translates into several places less. We’ll see what happens in the race, but the car suits my preferences more this weekend, so the starting position is not a disaster. »
Romain Grosjean – 4th and 4th:
The Red Bulls seem very fast and we knew it was going to be tight with Lewis [Hamilton] for third place, so I believe we did a good job with fourth place. The car is much more efficient than yesterday, especially on hard tires with which we were struggling a bit. We were ultimately the fastest with these tires in Q1. The team worked hard last night to achieve this and we have, once again, made progress throughout this weekend. It is a narrow, technical circuit, the wind is still playing tricks on us and the temperature should remain high, so it will be interesting to see what we can do in the race. I feel very good.
