Friday: Hülkenberg happy with his Sauber in Abu Dhabi
Nico Hülkenberg expressed satisfaction with his Sauber C32 after the first day of testing. The German driver believes he has a card to play this weekend and will give his all to secure a good result. Esteban Gutiérrez was a bit more reserved in order to test different setups for qualifying and the race.
Nico Hülkenberg – 11th and 9th:
« It was a normal Friday. We worked on the planned program and learned a lot about the car and the tires today. I am confident that we will be able to achieve a good performance. There are still opportunities to improve the car’s settings, but overall I am happy. »
Esteban Gutiérrez – 15th and 11th:
« Today has been a very productive day. We tested different settings on the car and evaluated the tire behavior. This morning, we tested various balance settings, and it’s always a matter of finding the right setups for qualifying and then for the race. Now, we need to find the best compromise for tomorrow. Here the track changes a lot from morning to afternoon, as track temperatures vary significantly, so it’s a challenge to judge the car well. It will be the same during qualifying and the race. »
