Sunday: The Big 8 for Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull

Sebastian Vettel – 1st

Normally, it’s the day after, on Monday, when you feel like you’ve succeeded. It’s a great feeling when you have that smile on your face, and it’s nice. On Sunday, things happen very quickly, and you don’t always realize what you’ve achieved afterward. It’s thanks to the team’s efforts today. Everyone wants to attack: this morning, the guys were working hard because we had some concerns about the car’s reliability. So they were at their best to solve the problem, and the car was good throughout the race. So a big thanks to them. I’m not sure what we’ve done since the summer break to be able to win races, but whatever it is, it’s working. When you’re an athlete, not every day is supposed to be good, and you have ups and downs. You feel the lows. They hurt more than when you’re on top, obviously. You savor these moments, but I keep saying there’s no guarantee for the next race or the one after that or the one after that! You never know what’s going to happen next. So you have to savor the moment and look forward to tomorrow.

Mark Webber – 3rd

« My start was good. Romain had a good start too. I wanted to position myself on the right for the braking point of the first corner but that’s what everyone wanted to do. I got boxed in and didn’t manage my corner exit well. But after that, it was a solid race. Our pace was good but you have to be careful with the tires. The race was largely determined in the qualifying. In the end, I did what I could but I think we lost yesterday. I had family and friends here this weekend. So, it’s nice to achieve a good result. It would have been better to win but Seb did a good job this weekend. »
