Friday: A Balance to Improve at Sauber

Nico Hülkenberg – 10th and 8th:

« It has been a strange Friday. It’s difficult because we don’t know what the weather will be like for the rest of the weekend. If it rains, like today, then the kilometers covered will be useful. But if it’s dry, we won’t have much experience. As for the laps, I’m not too happy with the car today. I think we have quite a bit of work to do regarding balance in the rain, on wet and intermediates. We can improve, and I hope we can go in this direction. »

Esteban Gutiérrez – 12th and 12th:

« Obviously, it was a rainy Friday, which made it difficult to follow the planned schedule. However, it was useful to gain experience in the wet. This morning, we used intermediates, while this afternoon we ran with wet tires, so we were able to make a comparison. Tomorrow, we need to be ready for anything as we’re not yet sure about the weather. We need to find a better compromise with the settings because it seems like it won’t rain on Sunday. Today, the balance of the car improved between this morning and this afternoon. It’s my first time here, but it was strange because I felt like I already knew the circuit from having driven it so often on my PlayStation when I was younger. It was a bit slippery today, but I felt comfortable. »
