Saturday: Hülkenberg and Sauber delighted to be in the top 10
Nico Hülkenberg did not expect to be in the top 10 in qualifying today, so he is thrilled to have made it into Q3. Esteban Gutiérrez, on the other hand, had a more difficult time, making a mistake at the beginning of Q1, and he will only start 18th in his Sauber.
Nico Hülkenberg – 5th and 10th:
« Reaching Q3 today was a real achievement. It has been wet all weekend, and we haven’t been as competitive as we wanted because we encountered issues with the car’s balance. It was difficult to approach each corner as the track was very slippery. At the beginning of the season, we were better with wet tires and not as competitive on slicks, but now it seems to be the opposite. I think it’s going to be an exciting race tomorrow, and we’ll see what the weather brings. »
Esteban Gutiérrez – 7th and 18th:
The track was dry in the first lap. However, I made a mistake in the last corner and wasn’t able to maintain the advantage gained in sectors 1 and 2. Then it started raining harder, and it was difficult to catch up. It’s disappointing. The car seemed good; it had a bit of oversteer, but it wasn’t too much of a problem. Starting 18th tomorrow will be a challenge, but we have to work with what we have.
