Saturday: The Force India drivers will be on the attack
Even though they were eliminated in Q2, Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil know that the Brazilian Grand Prix can be unpredictable, and they hope to seize every opportunity in the race tomorrow to help the Sahara Force India team finish the season on a high note.
Paul di Resta – 9th and 12th:
The rainy conditions have made the weekend complicated so far, and I have been able to do very little driving to prepare for qualifying. So we stuck with the settings defined before arriving here, which will hopefully help us tomorrow if the conditions improve and the track stays dry. If it’s dry, there will be many unknowns, particularly with the tires on an un-rubbered track, and there is a possibility that we can take advantage of that. If it rains, then we will be in a good position for points because our performance in the rain this weekend has been a step forward compared to the beginning of the season. We will continue to push and hope that tomorrow we will be smiling after the race.
Adrian Sutil – 10th and 16th:
« A very tricky qualifying session and the best conditions were right at the start of Q1. Then the conditions gradually worsened for everyone. So in Q2, there was really only one opportunity to set a time, and it was at the beginning. I stayed on track to see if the rain would ease, but when Pérez had his accident, the yellow flags were waved and I returned to the pits. The main problem was the lack of grip and I didn’t have the confidence to push. So I’ll start 16th tomorrow, but we know it’s a long race and the weather is still uncertain. Races here in Brazil can be very unusual and unpredictable so we won’t give up and we’ll push until the last lap. »
