Sunday: Williams F1 ends its 2013 season empty-handed in Brazil
For the last race of the season, the Williams F1 team leaves Brazil empty-handed. Valtteri Bottas didn't even see the checkered flag after retiring following a contact with Hamilton. Pastor Maldonado didn't shine in his final race with the Grove team, finishing 16th.
Pastor Maldonado – 16th:
« We fought well today with the cars around us, but our pace wasn’t enough to compete for the top 10. We lost some time today during the stops and ultimately weren’t able to regain those positions. It’s been three great years with this team, I had a good time with Frank [Williams] and the team this morning and they will forever remain in my heart. »
Valtteri Bottas – Retirement:
Unfortunately, we had to end the season without seeing the finish of today’s race. We struggled a bit with the hard tires, but once we switched to mediums, we seemed capable of catching up to the cars ahead. We had an incident with Hamilton where I was trying to maintain my line while overtaking on the outside and we made contact. It’s disappointing to end the season like this, but a finish in the points would have been difficult for us today anyway.
