Pic hopes to have clarity soon for 2014
Charles Pic does not yet know what he will do in 2014, but the Frenchman wishes to continue with the Caterham team and hopes to have clarity on next season before Christmas.
After starting in F1 in 2012 with the Marussia team alongside Timo Glock, Charles Pic moved to Caterham for the season /f1/actualite/16677-a-10th-place-for-constructors-that-will-be-worth-gold-in-2014.html thanks in particular to his supporters. Pic is indeed supported by Lagardère as well as Renault.
This year /f1/actualite/16677-une-10eme-place-chez-les-constructeurs-qui-vaudra-de-lor-en-2014.html did not conclude as hoped by the Leafield team, which was beaten by Marussia for the 10th place in the constructors’ championship – even though in reality it is not so problematic for them. Caterham took the gamble of hiring two young drivers – bringing budget – at the start of the year, and the situation doesn’t seem to be any better and this situation could persist next season.
The native of Montélimar hopes to have clarity about his future soon, as he stated on his website: « In the coming weeks, I will try to prepare as best as I can for 2014, hoping that my professional horizon clears up before the end of December. I will then go celebrate Christmas with my family. »
Pic therefore hopes to keep his seat at Caterham next season, even though he is also mentioned for a seat in a more prestigious team. In another note, I was delighted to see my boss Tony Fernandes honored with the Legion of Honour for his outstanding contribution to the French aviation industry. It’s a distinction that brings him a little closer to France, and I sincerely hope that our collaboration will continue in 2014.
